Sample Full Day Excursions
Killarney
Depart from Cork for a morning visit to Muckross House. The group will have lunch in the magnificient Killarney National Park. The group will then take a guided walk around Killarney town before departing for a visit to Torc Waterfall. The group will return to Cork before dinner.
Cashel
The students will visit the Rock of Cashel in the morning. The Rock of Cashel is one of the most spectacular archeological sites in Ireland. They will have lunch in Cashel and will also stop at Mitchelstown Caves on the way back to Cork.
Bunratty Castle
This Castle was built in the early 15th century. The group will have lunch in the grounds of the castle. There is a folk park which is built around the castle and offers a wonderful insight into life in Ireland in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The Ring Of Kerry
The Ring of Kerry is part of the mystical & unspoilt Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. the students will have the opportunity to have lunch on one of the amazing beaches along the way.
Sample Afternoon Excursions
Cork City Gaol
The restored city gaol, complete with furnished cells once housed 19th century female prisoners. The exhibition and audiovisual display trace the lives of typical inmates during 19th and 20th centuries, and show some of the harsh punishments they received.
Blarney Castle
The students have the opportunity to kiss the famous Blarney Stone and walk through the Enchanted Garden. There is time to do some shopping in the Woollen Mills afterwards.
Cobh
Afternoon visit to the wonderful port town of Cobh. The students will take the train to Cobh where they will have the opportunity to visit the Queenstown museum. Cobh was the last port of call of the “Titanic”.
Kinsale
Afternoon trip to the famous coastal town of Kinsale. This town is famous for it’s cobble streets and wonderful scenic walks. The students will also have the opportunity to take the coastal walk to see the famous Charles Fort.
Bowling
A fun afternoon spent playing Ten Pin Bowling. Its a great way of getting in some light excercise with fun and friends!
Fota Wildlife Park
The students will take the train to Fota Wildlife Park where they will spend the afternoon roaming around this wonderful free-range wildile park.
Shandon & Cork Butter Museum
Visit to Shandon, Cork’s famous four faced church, with the chance to climb the tower and ring the bells. The students will then visit the Butter Museum.
Lifetime Laboratory
Lifetime Lab is located at the old Cork City Waterworks which was responsible for supplying water to the city of Cork over the past 3 centuries. The old buildings and machinery have been carefully restored and are now being used to tell the story of how water was supplied to Cork City in the past.
